TREND Networks launches LanTEK IV-L (Lite) streamlined cable certifier

Trend Networks is launching a budget-friendly version of its LanTEK IV handheld cable certifier. The entry-level LanTEK IV-L is a simplified version of the LanTEK IV-S Cable Certifier and will be available from 29th July.

Designed for users who simply need a Cat 6A copper certifier, the LanTEK IV-L (Lite) has fewer features than the LanTEK IV-S but allows technicians to save time and money when testing advanced Ethernet Cat 6A/Class EA copper cables to support certification and ensure networks meet industry standards.

The LanTEK IV-L can certify target cables in just 10 seconds, including DCRU/PoE compliance, TCL/ELTCTL noise immunity and distance to NEXT and Return Loss fault measurements. Allowing technicians to efficiently boost a network’s total capability without escalating costs, LanTEK IV-L helps network engineers achieve more with their certification projects.

“It made sense for us to create a cost-effective, entry-level model, tailored for novice technicians, but also useful for experience users,” explains Dan Barrera, Director of Product Innovation at TREND Networks. “We always listen to our customers and aim to develop products to help them improve efficiency and reliability, as well as optimise useability and cost-savings. This compact, easy to use and intuitive device fills a gap in the market and will ensure precise and dependable results every time.”

Developed with a familiar user interface, the LanTEK IV-L can generate seamless reports using TREND Network’s AnyWARE Cloud ecosystems, reduce testing errors with TeamViewer remote control, certify new cable installations to the latest performance requirements and determine whether existing category 5e or 6 cables can support 2.5/5Gbps Multi-Gig performance to improve network bandwidth without recabling. Users can easily share test data and manage test results, enhancing real-time collaboration between project managers and field technicians and improving report efficiency.

The TREND AnyWARE Cloud software allows users to share report links and access all project files in one place. Online re-certification is also possible, saving time, money and unsustainable callbacks.

The innovative VisiLINQ permanent link adapters are standard with all LanTEK IV certifiers, including the LanTEK IV-L, and light up red (fail) or green (pass) seconds after connection to the port. The visual indication presents a unique way to test cables – and is a practical alternative to the simple beep of other certifiers, making it easier to identify test status in loud server rooms, for example, and increase productivity.

TREND Network users can also sign up to The Sapphire Care Plan, which supports equipment maintenance and upgrades. The plan is designed to minimise down time, reduce the cost of ownership and protect against unforeseen repair costs.
